Get a police report! It is always worth the wait. Why is this so important, you ask? Because a police report determines who is at fault, which insurance company will be held responsible, and is a legal document. Taking photos at the scene of the collision also serves as valuable evidence.
• Is your vehicle safe to drive? If you have to use the word "try" in a sentence, such as, "I'll try to drive my vehicle," chances are you should have it towed to Cockrell's Collision Repair. A vehicle you are unsure of is not safe to drive.
• Once a copy of the police report is obtained, call our office to set up an appointment with one of our staff members, who then will assist you in getting your claim set up. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call us!
No, you do not. There is no law requiring you to get more than one estimate.
No, the choice is yours. You are entitled to have your car repaired wherever you feel comfortable. Cockrell's Collision Repair will work off any estimate you may have, regardless of which body shop or insurance company wrote it. We will also provide you with a written, lifetime warranty on all of the work we do.
Certainly not! We will work from any estimate that the insurance company is paying from and supplement the difference. A supplement is any additional parts or labor necessary to fix your car to pre-accident condition. The supplement is always paid by the insurance company for all accident related repairs.
Differences in repair estimates are common. A lower estimate may not include all of the necessary work. It may also be missing necessary parts needed to restore your car to pre-accident condition. Remember, an estimate is an estimate, which means that during the repair process you may be contacted by some shops for additional funds. At Cockrell's Collision Repair, we try and write the most fair and efficient estimate we can.
• If you're not sure why one estimate is different from another you have received, please bring it to your appointment and one of our staff members will be happy to sit down with you and explain the details. We will match any other estimate for the same repair.
